Let's go glamping... I mean camping! Growing up, the majority of my vacations were limited to relaxing at resorts and hotels, renting cabins, or simply staying with friends and family in the comfort of their homes.

Since Covid-19 put a wrench in all the fun trips I had planned for Summer 2020, Hunter and I decided to purchase some products to keep us busy. We went through many phases - making our own craft beer, baking, painting, and charcuterie boards to name a few. But once the weather became warmer, our number 1 goal was to spend as much time outside as possible! We quickly found camping to be the most cost effective way to continue having fun while places were shutdown. There was just one problem... I am a Condo Camper and he is a seasoned camper who does annual camping trips to the Boundary Waters and beyond. We found a way to compromise, and have never looked back!

Below you will find the top 5 products that I have purchased to help me enjoy the great outdoors almost as much as the great indoors!

If you, your partner, a family member or a friend has access to a truck, a truck tent is a great alternative to camping in a regular tent. If a camper isn't where you want to spend your money, a truck tent is the next best thing! It is a cost effective product that will keep you off the ground and dry from rain. A truck tent is a convenient tenting solution for "Glampers" like you and me. I purchased mine from Cabela's, but there are many other brand options on Amazon that will fit your vehicle of choice.

A great night's sleep is key to having the best camping weekend ever. Every Glamper needs an air mattress for the most comfortable sleeping experience! I have found an air mattress that fits in between the wheel wells of Hunter's truck. The mattress comes with a pump that inflates and deflates with the power of the cigarette lighter plug.

3. Lantern/Fan Duo

There's nothing worse than a hot summer night with no air flow in your tent! I searched Amazon for a solution and found a portable lantern/fan duo with an attached carabiner to hook to the top of our tent. This portable device gets the air moving and serves as an overhead light inside the tent. It is battery powered and will last up to 37 hours off of 2 D batteries.

4. Air Conditioning Unit - Portable

Speaking of staying cool, for those extremely hot camping trips, a portable air conditioning unit is a necessity to "keeping your cool" as a Glamper. The A/C unit that I use is rechargeable, cordless, and runs on evaporative water for up to 5 consecutive hours. This product has been a life saver!

Sitting around the campfire with friends and family is fun in itself, but what makes it even more enjoyable is when you are sitting in a comfortable chair! This rocking camp chair has quick and easy portability, rocks back and forth and will last you many camping seasons because of its durable material. It can be a bit pricey, but as a Glamper I consider it an investment! :p
